Yes, I do ha e bugs eating my eggplant. They always show up this time of year and eat, eat, eat. Because I don’t use chemicals, I turn to diatomaceous earth for a preventive powder. I have to reapply it each time it rains, but it is so safe.

Yes, that is how high the animal corn has gotten. I am under the hat at 5 foot 4 and the corn is at least 6 feet tall. Wow. It is only June.
Plants are covered with little berries which are starting to show some red. Can’t wait for them to ripen! They are so sweet. Birds don’t seem to be bothering them much. I put flash tape up to scare the birds off, which doesn’t bother the bees’ pollinating exuberance.
Saw fireflies for the first time tonight. Their small twinkly lights are a joy to see. Some stay low to the ground and some fly as high as our tallest tree across the road by the pasture. Only the males have their lights to flash to entice the ladies to come up and dance. They…
