The heirloom yellow pear tomato seeds have survived the winter and 8 have sprouted in random places in the garden. When they are 4-6 inches tall, I will transplant to the preferred area and stake them. They grow tall, no , REALLY tall. They are small but wonderfully flavorful. They have tender skins and do not transport well.

Plants are covered with little berries which are starting to show some red. Can’t wait for them to ripen! They are so sweet. Birds don’t seem to be bothering them much. I put flash tape up to scare the birds off, which doesn’t bother the bees’ pollinating exuberance.
Spent most of the morning hands-and-knees weeding the winter beans. They are now 6 inches tall. Then the massive thunderstorm hit. No damage. And I enjoyed relaxing a bit while watching its fury from the dry-ness of my porch.
