Sometimes you just have to clean the chicken coop. Today was on the cloudy, cool side so I gave the coop a really thorough cleaning. Removed the removable floor and washed and disinfected it and set it aside to dry. Removed all the bedding in the nests and replaced it with fresh, new straw. Replaced the floor and filled the food dispenser. Cleaned and refilled the waterers. Happy chickens give lots of yummy eggs.
Yes, I know it seems early, but I set out the peppers we started in peat pots in the house. I can cover it if needed. I like sweet bell peppers for green pepper jelly I make in the fall. (When they are really ripe and turn red, I make red pepper jelly.)

The sweet corn is starting to develop the tassel at the top and the silk on the ears. Sweet corn doesn’t grow as tall as the animal corn’ and animal corn is slow in making ears. This corn is 4 feet tall. The second planting of sweet corn is barely 6 inches tall.
