snow peas
Picked the first of the snow peas today. Lovely, sweet and tender will be great in stir-fry. The terrible winds of this week knocked them down, but not out. Yum!
Checked the dried and storage garlic today and found two that have sprouted little green tops. They will not keep now (the bulbs get mushy) so I planted them out with the winter garlic. This will test whether garlic should be planted in the fall or if it is ok to plant them in spring.
Remember that little 3 inch baby that came up randomly? Well, it has gotten big. At least 12 inches across. That may sound good, but it is turning orange already. That is bad. It is 2 months early so will probably rot before pumpkin decorating season. Chickens will feast!
Gone. Hopped away, or cat got it. So sad.
