The sweet corn is starting to develop the tassel at the top and the silk on the ears. Sweet corn doesn’t grow as tall as the animal corn’ and animal corn is slow in making ears. This corn is 4 feet tall. The second planting of sweet corn is barely 6 inches tall.
Would you believe it…already have so many strawberries I have to dehydrate to preserve them for winter. Wash berries, drain, slice them in half lengthwise, fill three web-type trays, set the temp to low, and off they go! Ready in about 6 hours. Then store in quart jars with caps and vacuum seal. Picked the first of this year’s fruits. Delicious! Now every day I will pick, dehydrate for storage, sell to neighbors, or eat fresh.
Blueberries are coming on strong now. And they are huge! Some as big as a dime. But then, I have been faithfully watering them if it doesn’t rain. Made blueberry jam today. It is delicious!
