Sad day

Found a surprise baby pumpkin on the volunteer plants in the herb bed. It is just 2 inches now, but will be larger and orange by September.  More pictures then.

Would you believe it…already have so many strawberries I have to dehydrate to preserve them for winter.  Wash berries, drain, slice them in half lengthwise, fill three web-type  trays,  set the temp to low, and off they go! This is my first year trying shallots.  They have just put up their first seed heads, not open yet, but you don’t really want them to blossom.  I will pick the blossoms off so the energy from the roots will maker bigger shallots.  (Shallots are milder on the tummy than onions.)
