Robins
Of the 4 blue robin eggs in their nest in my plum tree, 3 have hatched. They are nearly featherless but have very big mouths for mom and dad to feed.
I did not participate!!! I did see that the animal corn is up. And the 7 butternut, too. I plant these in between the corn rows to run along the ground and keep weeds down. By the time I harvest the corn, the squash will be ready, too.

Am also setting out red potato this year. Someone gave me a bunch of seed potato and I have room so want to see if there is any difference in production, storability, and taste.
The first animal corn was planted today because the dogwood is in blossom and the maple tree’s leaves are the size of a squirrel’s foot. Here in Virginia, that is a sure time to be safe from frosts and warm and wet enough for corn to sprout.
Planted 6 rows of sweet corn. This will grow 6 feet tall and produce sweet, tender corn for table use. I prefer Bodacious for sweetness and dependability.
