eggplant

My poor eggplant.  One of them was undermined by a nasty rodent last night and it was wilting badly this morning. I though I lost it, but I tried tamping the dirt down and watering it thoroughly.  And it worked!  This evening it is standing strong and happy!

YW Night

Second planting of beets are in.  I am already eating some greens from the first planting.  Weather is perfect for beets…coolish nights and sunny days.  Interplanting with radish helps to find the row before seeds sprout.

Time to plant the second crop of carrots.  By staggering the planting dates, There will be fresh carrots all summer long, and into the winter with mulch protection.
